You Maintain Everything Except Yourself

Think about your phone for a second. You charge it every night, right? You update the software. You probably have a case on it, and maybe even a screen protector. And, if the battery started draining faster than usual, you’d notice. And you’d probably do something about it like seeing what apps are draining it, if there is too much storage being used, etc…

Now ask yourself: when did you last give yourself that same basic care?

We would never dream of neglecting our devices and yet, we neglect ourselves all the time. We run on empty and call it "hustle” or “busy”. Or say “that’s just how life is”. We ignore the warning signs and call it "commitment."

Here’s the thing we keep forgetting: You are not a machine. Our human operating system is thousands of years old. It was built for rhythm—for seasons of doing and seasons of being still. It was not built for back-to-back Zoom calls and a screen that follows you into the bathroom.

You are a human being running "code" that was never designed for this pace. That’s not a weakness; it's just a biological fact.

So the question isn’t how to optimize yourself so you can do more.

The question is: What would it look like to treat yourself with even half the care you give your phone?
